our mission
Advanced satellite technology, built to monitor a changing planet
Founded in 2021, the company designs, builds and operates advanced satellite-based remote sensing systems used to detect and quantify invisible changes, ranging from methane leaks to wildfires.
Its flight proven GESat satellite technology currently enables companies and governments to monitor over 260 methane-emitting industrial sites worldwide.
Following the successful deployment of its GEN1 satellite in space early 2025, Sensing will be launching new GEN2 satellites to both increase its coverage & revisit for methane applications and expand its services to cover wildfire monitoring, air pollution, and extreme weather events.
GESat GEN1 - deployed early 2025
Flight-proven satellite delivering continuous methane monitoring at industrial scale worldwide.
GEN2 satellites
Expanded coverage, higher revisit rate, and new services: wildfire, air pollution, extreme weather.
Copernicus programme partner
Collaborating with the European Commission and ESA to strengthen European sovereignty and climate action.
Our expertise
Established European leader in atmospheric intelligence
Sensing also plays a key role in strengthening European sovereignty and supporting its climate change & global warming reduction efforts, collaborating with both the European Commission and the European Space Agency (ESA) under the Copernicus programme.
Combining satellite hardware and data science, our expertise includes hyperspectral sensors, active optical systems and artificial intelligence applied to atmospheric change detection.
Based in Toulouse, the company is growing and looking for the brightest minds to join its mission to reduce humanity’s carbon footprint, forecast man-made and natural disasters, and ultimately help save lives.
Hyperspectral sensors
Proprietary optical payloads capable of detecting trace gases at parts-per-billion concentration with global coverage.
Active optical systems
Advanced active sensing architecture enabling precise quantification and source attribution even in complex emission environments.
Atmospheric AI
Deep learning models trained on atmospheric physics to detect, attribute, and quantify emission events with CEOS-compliant accuracy.
When I founded the company I gave us a challenging goal: launch a satellite in less than 5 years to create a European leader in man-made methane emissions detection and quantification. We achieved this goal in 3 years and 3 months with the launch of GESat GEN1 and the selection by the European Union’s CCM programme as 1 of only 2 companies delivering methane emissions intelligence for Europe’s needs.
Now I am giving us an even more challenging goal: launch a new series of satellites to be able within 5 years to create a European leader in hyperspectral imagery, converging on our mission to monitor, understand, and ultimately predict natural and man-made disasters.
